Even if you are not flying first class, you can still be fly and classy. Flying for me is fun and an experience within itself. I can’t explain it, but when I fly, all limits are out the window. 8 AM cocktail…why not? But besides that, it’s the excitement of getting to a new destination. So why not get there in comfort. So here is what I suggest:

  • Get some good luggage. Nothing is worse than dragging your luggage and being in struggle mode. I personally recommend hard-shell luggage with spinner wheels.
  • Download the airline’s app. Do this before your flight because you will have access your digital boarding pass, and other in-flight perks such as movies, music and flight info.
  • Pack your own snacks. I’ve been stuck more than once on a delayed plane and my snacks came through for me every time.
  • Get TSA PreCheck or Clear to move faster through security and avoid having to remove all your stuff. It’s so much faster and makes flying so much easier.
  • Don’t forget to put your headphones in your carry-on bag and make sure they are charged and ready to go.
  • Download movies or shows on your phone or iPad ahead of time. I can’t tell you how many time the wi-fi on a plane was out and then folks were just stuck staring off into space.
  • Bring a good book, if you like reading. Do people still read books on planes? If you do, that’s great! Just don’t forget it.
  • Pay extra to pick your own seat or pay for early checkin – again, I will pay for an upgraded convenience. But that is just MY thing.
  • Figure out transportation to and from the airport ahead of time. This is just one less thing to worry about.
  • If possible, get lounge access. There is Priority Pass or other access options such as a day pass, but they definitely make waiting at the airport easier, especially if long layovers or flight delays.
  • Dress comfy but cute. Anything can happen with a flight, and the last thing you want to be is uncomfortable. Just remember to keep it cute.
