BTS ~ Patience in Laying the Foundation

You can’t do everything in one day. That is what I keep telling myself. I want to get the blog engine going, but I keep finding that there are some foundational elements that I need to put in place.

Mistakes Along the Way

In trying to figure out how to set my blog up for success, I’ve been making mistakes of jumping into one thing, without fully setting up something else. For instance, I started and was on a roll with Instagram, but had to stop, because I realized that my blog is my own platform and it is my number one priority. My goal is not to drive traffic to Instagram, but to direct traffic back to my own platform ~ Seachels Experience Travel (SET). That should be the goal of any blogger. I had to realize this hard truth, and re-focus on what I need to do to build a strong foundation for SET.

Finding Focus

There is so much information out in these internet streets when it comes to what you should and should not do with blogging, and it is honestly a bit overwhelming. So I’m trying to focus on what has been proven strategies for successful blogs. It’s just so hard to stay focused on one platform, especially when you see someone succeeding on another.

So I have decided to focus most of my energy on creating content for the blog, and promoting on Pinterest. That is not to say that I won’t be promoting on other platforms such as Instagram periodically, but I need to pick two main platforms to focus on for now because otherwise, it gets too overwhelming.

Whats My Strategy?

To be honest, I am still working on my strategy that I want to be a part of my foundational building. But what I do know, is that I want my focus to remain on this blog and promoting on Pinterest. After much research, I have found that Pinterest is best for me to start out.

I will try and update you on how things are going once I get some pins up on Pinterest, but until then, please follow along on my journey and the behind-the-scenes SET up.
