Today I am setting up Google Analytics which is a tool to help you collect data, and track and analyze your website’s metrics. This is something I should have done from Day 1. But I’m doing it now, so I wanted to share with you what I’m doing.
Head over to the Google Analytics website and follow the prompts to create an account. I left everything checked and unchecked that came with the default setup, but I will go back later to check if I should update my settings.
Use a Plugin
Then I was prompted to install a plugin on my website. I went with the recommended Monster Insights plugin. Google Analytics automatically connected to my website, after I activated the plugin.
So far, it appears everything is connected, but I haven’t taken a deep dive into how to correctly analyze the data. But I least I have the tracking set up.
Learn to Understand the Analytics
From here, I am going to read a couple of articles and watch some YouTube videos because I am confused by this entire thing. But I just wanted to update you on what I am doing on the back-end.
After doing some research, I realized that using Google Analytics on my blog will be really helpful. It will allow me to understand my audience better and see how people are using my website. This information will be valuable for anyone who wants to set up a blog or website.
