I just spent the last hour setting up a professional email address for this blog. I felt this was necessary so that my domain name can appear in any emails that I send out. I literally just googled how to do it, because this is not in my wheelhouse.
Since I am using BlueHost as my webhost, I followed their instructions step by step on their site, and I had it set up in no time.
Reasons to get a professional looking email
If you want to take your blogging to the next level, I suggest you should set up a professional email address for these reasons:
- If you are blogging, you are probably already paying for web hosting, so you might as well use the free email addresses that are included to keep things consistent. Check the dashboard of your hosting company to see your email options.
- Your email is basically reinforcing your brand. With a branded email address, you become more memorable.
- It builds trust because it just looks more legit than using a free email address name.
- You can continue creating emails for different “departments” of your blog, or if you plan to grow your blog, the branded emails will provide consistency for your blogging business.
- Did I mention, it just looks more professional. This is helpful when building relationships with various vendors because you appear trustworthy and about your business.
This is just another thing that I have been doing behind the scenes that I wanted to share. There are so many tiny pieces, but I am building it piece by piece. If you are following along, thanks for joining me on the ride. I’ll update you later on any other things are happening with BTS – The SET Up.
Now, back to fun stuff!
