I know I mentioned in a previous BTS post that I was setting up a system to organize affiliate programs, but I wanted to touch base on what’s been happening since then.
Affiliate Networks
I have been researching different affiliate networks, which are platforms that have multiple companies listed that will allow bloggers and influencers to advertise. I earn commissions from affiliates, but it cost the readers nothing to click the link if they want to buy something. I’m basically promoting for a small fee. So I am in the process of building up my affiliates.
Anyhoo, with that being said, I have been behind-the-scenes filling out applications and making sure I am choosing the best networks to join that will align with Seachels Experience Travel.
I Joined A Few Affiliate Networks
So far, I’ve joined Awin, Impact, Partnerize, Commission Junction and Travel Payouts affiliate networks. I have joined some individual affiliate programs as well, but if I list every affiliate I plan to join, this post would be too long. But I personally think its easier to start with an affiliate network, and then go from there.
Once you are in a network, you still have to apply to individual brands. Some brands will approve you automatically, whereas others you have to either wait to be accepted, or if you get rejected, you can reapply later. Either way, I have been reaching out to brands that I know and trust and want to promote to readers.
Working Simultaneously
While I am waiting to hear back from programs or networks, I will continue to work in the background while also creating some valuable content around travel and experiences.
I am tracking the program status of brands as I get notifications. You definitely need to have a system if you plan to do any type of affiliate marketing because it can get messy real quick. I suggest you set us some type of system in the beginning, so you can focus on building up and refining your blog and content.
Well, that’s all I have for now. I know there is probably more, but that’s all I have in me for today. So stay tuned for more behind-the-scenes on SET. Now back to the fun travel stuff!
